Mekael Shane

Mekael Shane is an American Mountaineer, Poet and Motivational Speaker who was born on October 17th, 1970 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mekael attended Park Tudor School which is located in his hometown. After graduating from Park Tudor School, Mekael went on to attend what he refers to as the "Greatest HBCU in the country," Central State University in Ohio, where he pursued a degree in Political Science. Upon his departure from CSU, Mekael returned home to Indianapolis where he then went to work for Project IMPACT - Indianapolis, a non-profit organization that works to provide services for at-risk youth and their families. Mekael served his country as a member of the U. S. ARMY, where he received accommodations for leadership and excellence. After having retired from the ARMY, Mekael continued to dedicated himself to serving his beloved homeland, by working in government and its many missions abroad. This proud Veteran soldier and American patriot, who having served in the U.S. ARMY for many years, has resided in Zürich, Switzerland since 2008, where he spends time climbing throughout the Swiss, French and Italian alps. The father of three sons, Cameron Shane his oldest son, Jordan Shane his middle son and Tristan Shane his youngest son, says that his life is, "Dedicated to building a legacy my sons will be proud of, and be proud to speak loud of." Mekael spends much of his time writing poetry, scripts, screenplays and various other writing projects. In addition to writing, Mekael has made a lifestyle of extreme sports having touched foot on all of the seven known continents, has made mountaineering his chief extreme sport and focus, has climbed extreme altitude mountains in various parts of the world, to include having climbed throughout the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibet, India and Pakistan, the Andes in South America, Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya in Africa, Denali in Alaska, Puncak Jaya otherwise known as the Carstensz Pyramid on the island of New Guinea located in Indonesia, and Vinson Massif located in Antarctica . Additionally, Mekael, a stalwart supporter of the global fight against cancer, has conducted educational events wherein the focus has been to raise awareness towards the fight against cancer and cancer survivorship.
